May 22nd, 2017, was the happiest day in the lives of Kavita & Varun. That was the day when they tied the knot of togetherness and love at Radisson Blu Beach Resort in Cavelossim, South Goa.
The events kicked off with Mehndi packed with a fun filled Pool Party scenario with music, drinks, snacks and a sumptuous lunch. The guest list was a stylish mix of international and desi crowd with causal ethnic wear. Sangeet was inspired with colors & shades from the different blues, navy to shades of purple and turquoise, this event was held indoors from 7.30 pm to 11 pm. There was loads of entertainment with cocktails and dinner. Guests were decked in stylish Indian wear and Western apparel too.
On the 2nd day, the wedding ceremony and Muhurtham was held outdoors on the scenic Cavelossim beach in the morning from 6.00 am to 7.30 am. The mandap (we as the wedding planner, pride upon our work here) took its place facing the ocean waves with soft whispers of breeze. A gorgeous entrance arch of orange marigold floral runners was structured at the start of the sandy area to make way for a pavement to the beach. Décor of yellow and orange hues draped smoothly across the chairs and mandap giving it a touch of tradition and simple elegance. A lush red carpet was rolled out to welcome the bridal couple and guests, entourage right up to the mandap. Guests donned up in traditional Indian wear after which there was sumptuous breakfast for all.
‘Traditional Sadhya Lunch’ was such a delight to the international guests as they were treated to an authentic South Indian cuisine experience. It was amazing to see them eat from the banana leaves and dip into curries and finally, to savor rasam (a very typical South Indian preparation present in almost all their special events) and have their taste buds experience a sweet sour local flavor.
The highlight of the wedding was the glittering reception evening as the venue was filled with warm fairy lights, Chinese lanterns all over and coconut palms trees filled with lights to give it a flawless warm ambience and set in the mood. The centerpiece an elegant blend of white carnations, orchids, gladioli and baby’s breath in cute jars well-placed on a rounded wooden piece positioned right in the midst of white covered tables added a breadth of freshness and vigour. Each table was surrounded by a set of eight gold and white Tiffany chairs, with white & silver grey tie backs to give it a splendid look (check out the photographs and let us know what you think). Youngsters danced the night away while the rest of the guests had a gala time mingling around, chatting away and singing to the tune of the live band “Estonia” who were so good in keeping the guest on their toes. Certainly, there was romance all around!!
The couple then cut a delicious three-tiered golden wedding cake in the presence of their family and friends. Champagne was toasted amidst loud cheers from the crowd to the good health and togetherness of the bridal couple.
I must say, the couple made an awesome pair. They looked perfect in each other’s company (a pic of the two of them below says it all); Kavita looked spectacular in all her outfits, be it her wedding trousseau or her evening wear or her mehndi get up while Varun matched up to her so beautifully. We all agreed that theirs is a match made in Heaven!!
From décor to lighting and sound, Purple Truffle did a splendid job of taking care of all the wedding arrangements. Overall, a great job is done to achieve a stunning outcome!!
